Established in 1964 in Garland, TX, Garrett continues the legacy built by our founders, as a global leader in consumer and security metal detecting products. We continue to build on our strong foundation and maximize our presence in the retail market. To that end, we are looking to hire an dynamic individual as the Manager of Retail Channel Sales. This position works with national outdoor and sporting goods retailers and consumer electronics retailers to develop new business relationships for Garrett and to drive sales and margins within our existing retail relationships.

Essential Functions

  • Identify consumer retail needs and sell appropriate products to meet those needs.
  • Perform appropriate analysis to monitor performance, identify trends, highlight deficiencies, build business cases for proposed solutions and improvements, and provide internal performance updates on Garrett sales and margin performance.
  • Drive the implementation of sales improvement actions and the onboarding of new retailers.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day relationship management of existing channel partners.
  • Build relationships with prospective channel partners to facilitate new channel growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate the involvement of Garrett personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet partner performance objectives and partners’ expectations.
  • Participate in a partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.
  • Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Operations, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
  • Represent Garrett at industry events building on our brand reputation to deepen existing relationships while building new ones.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements. Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience with managing online or offline sales, consumer electronic goods sales experience a plus

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong sense of ownership with passion for growth
  • Strong quantitative abilities (spotting trends and outliers in data, possessing a natural gut-level feel for margins and price points, always “knows the numbers” for assigned accounts)
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to do first-pass contract reviews and work with internal subject matter experts to arrive at smart redline proposals
  • Ability to understand and explain electronic consumer products
  • Solid working knowledge and experience using Excel
  • Strong ability to tell the story, verbally and through use of PowerPoint
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Must demonstrate professional maturity – ability to manage up/down, strong people skills for interaction with internal/external leaders

Work Environment

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise
  • May work in end-user environment both indoor and outdoor for varied periods of time.
  • Some overnight travel is required (<30% via land or air)

Physical Demands
Minimal to moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an office/clerical nature to work from a sitting or standing position.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
