Summary:

The Retirement Analyst is responsible for activities related to retirement services and performing advanced, specialized, complex duties related to administration of the District’s retirement plans. This includes assisting employees regarding retirement options and analyzing work processes and reviewing work related to the administration of the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSERS), 401k, 403(b), and 457 voluntary retirement plans to ensure accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between NC (TSERS) and the district to provide assistance to employees regarding retirement services.
  • Develop and prepare communications and educational materials for employees/retirees.
  • Coordinate and provide educational seminars/webinars or one-on-one counseling to employees and/or facilitate group sessions regarding retirement and related programs.
  • Respond to participant inquiries regarding plan features/provisions, and coordinate with outside agencies as necessary.
  • Determine retirement eligibility and guide employees through the retirement process.
  • Maintain accurate records to effectively administer the District’s retirement plans
  • Effectively audit and identify discrepancies in retirement benefit calculations, data and information.
  • Develop, prepare, and analyze reports to share with senior management regarding program offerings, improvements, and effectiveness.
  • Accurately set up, maintain, and audit retiree benefit and retirement plan records; and maintain related system information as necessary to ensure proper administration of retirement plans and retiree health benefits.
  • Continually review processes and make recommendation for changes to enhance productivity and add value to the administration of retirement services.
  • Serve as a liaison to coordinate workflow and procedures between retirement services and other departments, including financial services, information services, school-based personnel and third-party administrators.
  • Train and mentor other HR staff in all aspects of administration, compliance and customer service related to retirement services.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in retirement/retirement systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,071.00 - $59,967.00 per year
