Job Summary:

This position specializes in the compliance of ERISA qualified retirement plans. Primary responsibilities are to assist with plan administration and quality control.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform or quality review nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 and other compliance related tasks completed by Administration team members.
  • Participate in staff development of Administration team by providing ERISA technical guidance and quality review feedback.
  • Maintain an expert level knowledge of qualified plan regulations and administration.
  • Update compliance materials for law changes.
  • Perform QDRO reviews for accuracy and completeness and determine the award to alternate payee.
  • Identify and recognize any compliance issues that arise from a plan’s testing and reporting process and recommend corrective action related to such issues.
  • Review death distributions to determine beneficiary and payout period. Prepare customized letters if necessary.
  • Effectively execute resolution to escalated technical issues from internal staff and clients.
  • Identify and utilize internal and external resources for compliance resolution.
  • Provide plan design support for existing and on boarding clients.
  • Participate in compliance related projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Possess a strong understanding of department processes, procedures and standards

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with the following software: Relius Administration, FTWilliam, CRM, Relius Documents
  • Ability to read and interpret plan documents.
  • Ability to meet regulatory deadlines as well as team and personal goals.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize workload.
  • Able to react to change productively.
  • Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations

Education and Experience:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Ten or more years of Retirement or Pension experience preferred.
  • Industry related designation(s) preferred.

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000
