Job Summary:

The Risk Analyst, under immediate supervision, supports administering CF’s corporate Risk Management and Insurance programs. The candidate will carry out diverse assignments, including but not limited to data collection and analysis, deliverables development, and project management. The role involves working with a wide range of CF personnel and external service providers, as such interpersonal skills are important.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of Director, Risk Management, performs fundamental analysis of the company’s risk exposures in order to assist the senior members of the department in ascertaining whether insurance coverage adequately addresses risk profile, considering company’s risk management philosophy.
  • Collects and assembles underwriting data as part of renewal application submissions for various insurance programs using established and evolving protocols.
  • Reviews insurance policies to confirm compliance with negotiated terms and conditions, including resolution of any detected discrepancies.
  • Addresses the application and interpretation of the company’s insurance programs to individual commercial contracts and potential claims, identifying and referring more complex issues to the senior members of the department.
  • Manages assigned projects and programs, collects and analyzes data, tracks and prepares reports to assist the Director, Risk Management with formulation of recommendations of the department’s priorities.
  • Participates in adjustment of insured losses and provides support with the preparation of claims.
  • Identifies and recommends a course of action in support of the most cost effective resolution of routine claims.
  • Participates in the administration of safety and loss prevention programs as assigned by the Director, Risk Management.
  • Performs additional project work, as needed.

Internal Controls:

Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.

Successful incumbents will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent; two to five years of professional experience is required.
  • Excellent oral and written skills required.
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to work independently and engage with personnel at different levels across the organization.
  • Prior risk management and insurance experience is desirable, but not required. Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certifications are helpful, but not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Travel to various CF locations and related seminars/conferences is required on an as needed basis with typical trips taking 2-3 days.
