The San Francisco VAMC (SFVA) is a Level 1a major interdisciplinary teaching facility with service-lines serving medical, surgical, and neurological inpatients and outpatients, with a Level III Emergency Department, and multiple community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC). Procedural care is provided on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. There is a large outpatient psychiatric population, with admissions for medical co-morbidities. MED/SURG care is provided at the Fort Miley Campus. Home-Based Primary Care is provided in the veteran’s home.

We are seeking to hire experienced Acute Care Staff RN’s-

NURSE I / LEVEL 2 - Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with 1-year RN experience.

NURSE I / LEVEL 3 -Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with 2-3 years RN experience. Or Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with 1-2 years’ RN experience. Or a BSN with 1-2 years RN experience.

NURSE II –BSN with 2-3 yrs RN exp. Or -Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor’s degree in a field related to Nursing. Or MSN or Masters’ in a field related to Nursing with a BSN or bachelor’s in a field related to Nursing. Or an MSN from Bridge Program, with 1-2 years RN exp.

NURSE III –MSN or Masters’ in a field related to Nursing with a BSN or bachelors’ in a field related to Nursing or an MSN from Bridge Program with 2-3 years RN experience.

DUTIES

Transitional Care Unit (TCU)- The RN will autonomously provide physical assessments and design a plan of care based on those observations and previous medical orders and history as well as admission assessments and primary nursing care. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to IV therapy, medication administration, nursing diagnosis, treatment plans, point of care testing, team leading, as well as patient and family education. RNs will assess, monitor, and treat the patients for pain; will administer blood and blood products as needed. RNs will provide for comfort and safety to all patients. The RN will occupy a leadership role with oversight of LPN and UAPs. RNs are required to participate in interdisciplinary rounds, unit base council, projects, and committees. RN performs other duties under the direction of the nurse manager or designee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $108,500.00 - $172,500.00 per year
