Overview

As our NICU Nurse at CHI Saint Jospeh London, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll focus on the safety of the newborn, with kindness and compassion.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to appreciate that routine is never routine. We have some wonderful days in this department and get to be with people through huge milestones in their lives. We also have some hard days and are with people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding to different circumstances. Above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency. A newborn's status can change quickly and it’s never good for the mother or family to see the nurse in a panic. You’re calm. You’re in control. You’re handling the situation.

Saint Joseph London is a 150-bed regional hospital located in London Kentucky. Founded in 1926 Saint Joseph London opened a new $152 million 340000-square foot regional facility in 2010. Responsibilities

THIS JOB OFFERS AN INCENTIVE:
Sign-on Bonuses up to $10,000 or Education Assistance (loan payoff) up to $24,000 (for eligible positions)

  • Educate patients on various interventions or procedures
  • Assess newborn and provide care.
  • Communicate with the care management team, including physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree (ADN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilege
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required to obtain within 6 months post hire
  • Neonatal Resusitation Program (NRP) required to obtain within 90 days post hire
  • Previous L&D experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
