GENERAL SUMMARY:


Responsible for sustaining and growing a market leading ortho program. This position reports to the Director of Quality, Patient Safety & Epidemiology.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


1. Assures patient satisfaction through daily rounding, patient/family education, focus on wellness, preparedness for discharge and review of HCAHPS data.

2. Oversees data collection and the analysis of performance measures and coordinates performance improvement activities.

3. Collaborates on optimal patient care outcomes with the multidisciplinary team.

4. Partners with the STTAR Clinic for enhancing patient’s pre-operative education and care.

5. Collaborates with Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative (MARCQI) clinical data abstractor.

Supports and participates in a collaborative team-oriented environment – cooperates and works together with all co-workers, plans and completes job duties, uses appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations and follows up as appropriate regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.

6. Supports, cooperates with and demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules – including universal precautions - reports and prevents/corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.

7. Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and/or identified by the organization.

8. Maintains current licensure, registration and/or certification, as applicable, at all times.


STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education / Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in nursing or related field preferred.

B. Work Experience: Clinical experience with postoperative spine patients.

C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: RN, State of Michigan. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.

D. Other Qualifications: Orthopedic Nurse Certification preferred but not required. Position requires high degree of independence and vision for program.
