Responsibilities

Virginia Mason is a Level 1 stroke center. Our team is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Neurosciences & Renal Transplant
Progressive Care Unit. Our RNs are trained to care for highly acute neuro progressive patients.
The patient population on this unit includes but is not limited to: post-op craniotomies, complex spine surgeries, acute
ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, and kidney transplants, seizure disorders.

support newer RNs in the development of their practice and delivery of patient care.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provides high quality, skilled nursing services to assist patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals
  • Prepare the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care
  • Caring for patients with lumbar drains, arterial lines, vasoactive medications, and bedside telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this
position.
  • CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
  • Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
  • One year of Acute Care, or Medical Surgical experience required.
  • Transplant and/or Neurology & Neurosurgery experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State
Board of Nursing.
