Robotics Engineers at Noah Medical are primarily responsible for developing algorithms and models for the control of surgical robots. As a member of the Robotics team, you will take ownership of a project, apply first-principles to develop control solutions, identify systems, characterize performance of the solutions, and contribute to the system software. We are looking for an individual who is eager to own a medical robotics control project, to apply prior knowledge and first-principle thinking to develop solutions, and is eager to contribute to product software. We expect the individual to be able to work independently to solve problems, while being eager to collaborate and solve problems within a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities:

• Develop robot control models and controls - creation of robot kinematic and dynamic models and applying control algorithms
• System identification
• Robot system performance characterization
• Contribute to robotic software development in C++

Requirements:

• MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or a related field
• Strong background in robotics (kinematics, sensor fusion, linear algebra)
• Have previously developed robot models and characterized performance on physical systems
• Experience (2+ year at University or 1+ years in industry) with Object Oriented Programming in C++

Preferred:

• 2+ years of industry experience in C++ development for real-time control
• Understanding of the software development processes for medical devices or similar regulated industries such as Automobile, Aeronautics or Spacel is highly desired
• Theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in robot manipulator kinematics
• Multithreading experience in C++
