National Express LLC (NELLC) , a nation-wide leader in student transportation services, consists of Durham School Services in the United States and Stock Transportation in Canada. NELLC provides student-busing services for approximately 20,000 routes throughout North America using local resources and preplanned routes.

NELLC is currently seeking a Route Logistics Analyst with experience working in the ground transportation industry to work from our corporate headquarters in Lisle, Illinois or work from home. This position will report to the Director of Route Logistics Department. Route Logistics Analyst will be accountable to analyze, assess and evaluate logistics from a perspective of identifying, developing and implementing enhancements and new business scenarios to maximize customer service while also maximizing efficiency and effectiveness of resources and assets and ensuring adherence to relevant requirements and constraints. Within this context, this position will focus on responsibilities for an assigned territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of studies and analyses (e.g. Tier analysis, School Bell time, Ridership, etc.) including validating future requirements and making logistics based recommendations for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Analyze route operations current and historical customer service profiles; develop, analyze and evaluate alternate scenarios and formulate and recommend logistics based service improvements, operating efficiencies and revenue opportunities.

  • Analyze recurring issues and trends, identify deficiencies/root causes in routing operations and develop and recommend strategic solutions and action plans to improve routing and logistics processes and technologies and/or revise/develop routing standards.

  • Developing routing strategies for contracts and route scenarios for new business development.

  • Consulting with customers to understand their needs/expectations and formulating/presenting routing solutions.

  • Train internal/external customer on routing principles/routing software.

  • Attend internal/external customer meetings (phone, webex, or onsite) in order to identify project requirements or present project results.

  • Serve as an assigned area point of contact for any routing issues/questions from NELLC’s customer service centers.

  • Participating in special projects and/or on cross functional teams.

  • Work closely with Route Logistics Specialist on more complex projects and other jobs assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • One to three years of operational experience in the ground transportation logistics field applying logistics principles, concepts, tools, and techniques to develop and implement optimum logistics solutions.

  • Preferred experience working in the student transportation industry but not required.

  • Excellent knowledge of and demonstrated experience using and applying Transfinder routing software to develop and analyze various scenarios and recommend optimal logistics solutions.

  • Knowledge and/or experience to participate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Knowledge of customer service and the parameters of Service Level Agreements (SLA's), routing constraints and contracts to understand customer service expectations and needs and ensure appropriate consideration in the optimization process.

  • Knowledge of training principles, concepts, methods and techniques and/or experience training others.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship building skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be available to travel to consult with customers throughout North America. (10-15% travel)

  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.

  • Be able to perform in a high pressure/high stress environment during school start up.
