Roving Maintenance Technician (Salem)
Job description
We are seeking to hire an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician to join our team in Salem, OR. The Roving Maintenance Technician will be responsible for picking up grounds, being dispatched to handle maintenance work orders, turns and emergency phone calls. Rotating on call is required.
Properties: Four properties in the Salem area (12-unit apartment, duplexes and townhomes)
Pay: $25.00 an hour
Workdays: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
Additional Compensation: $50 cell phone stipend and mileage reimbursement
Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician
- Reviewing punch list and completing items in a timely manner or as instructed.
- Participating in meetings and training sessions as required.
- Completing all resident maintenance/repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Utilize a P.O. system for purchases.
- Accompany all necessary building inspections and walk throughs for owners, Management staff, brokers, appraisers and other interested parties.
- Be available during established on-call schedule.
- Educate other staff on maintenance principles and projects.
- Maintain and monitor interior and exterior common area cleanliness
- Cabinet and laminate installation.
- Tub surround replacement, tile work, drywall repair and minor framing.
- Troubleshooting skills.

Requirements:Requirements for the Maintenance Technician
- Apartment maintenance, turnover work, and repairs including some electrical and plumbing experience.
- Must work with residents, vendors and staff in a professional manner
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to work with little supervision
- Basic knowledge of Excel and Word
- Have a basic set of hand and electric tools
- Have valid driver's license, reliable job appropriate vehicle and insurance
