About the Role: This position is intended to support safety, environmental regulatory compliance, and Utility Damage Prevention initiatives. Duties may include, but will not be limited to, conducting research and drafting concise summaries on safety, Utility Damage Prevention, and environmental issues, regulations and technologies; assisting with the development of procedures, presentations, spreadsheets, job aids, and training materials; assisting with or conducting field assignments, site visits, facility audits and inspections; assisting with the development of event materials and conducting administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and data analysis. Other projects, tasks, and duties will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a full-time student of an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or graduate-level degree
• Has and maintains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
• Has and maintains a valid driver's license
• Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Good oral and written communication
• Must possess basic computer skills

Preferred Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in Safety, Environmental Sciences, Geography or other related science or engineering degree from an accredited college or university
• Ability to write reports, summaries, and articles that require minimal review
• Experience with using MS Office, Microstation, AutoCad, and/or Geographical Information Systems (Intergraph and/or ESRI)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
