Job Title: Safety Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $75,000 – 80,000 Plus Annual Bonus

ColorCoat, Inc., headquartered in West Sacramento, is the largest paint and coatings applicator in the US, serving window and door manufacturers with ten facilities across the country. We are growing exponentially. We are seeking an experienced EH&S Manager to oversee all locations. This position requires 50-60% of travel and is hybrid remote with home office to be in the Dallas Fort Worth, TX area.

Summary: Leading the implementation, compliance, and oversight of all Safety programs and OSHA , and EPA requirements companywide and working closely with HR Manager, Operations team, and Plant Managers, and Safety Coordinators. Serve as Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure a safe work environment for employees, contractors and visitors to the company including multiple shift environments and locations, while holding employees at all levels accountable.

Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Executing and implementing , and maintaining safety and Regulatory Permit programs and OSHA and other governmental bodies standards for the entire company

· Rolling out monthly safety videos and/or training programs to ensure compliance and a safety conscious employee bas

· Maintaining safety logs and/or records to ensure that all plants follow OSHA and other regulatory bodies

· Auditing required safety documentation – company wide

· Conducts Safety Meetings and presents safety principles to Managers and/or Safety Coordinators in online meetings or training sessions

· Creates safety plans that include suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and plant processes

· Shares information, suggestions, and observations with VP of Operations to create consistency in safety standards throughout the entire company

· Assists with meeting company health and safety goals

· Follows up and documents causes of accidents, near misses, and other unsafe conditions in the plants

· Communicates any incidents/accidents to VP of Operations and HR

· Works with HR on WC cases throughout the company and making sure all documentation is obtained and that restrictions are being accommodated

· Works with HR on gathering information from the adjuster and an attorney that works for the company’s WC provider to determine what action to take moving forward

· Answer phone calls from safety coordinators throughout the day with different questions/requests

· Develop and implement programs to prevent future accidents

· Visiting every plant to perform site audits at least 2 times per year, and more frequently to plants needed more support

· Reviews and reports Plants’ compliance with health and safety rules and makes disciplinary recommendations when appropriate

· Audits Plants for PPE training and documentation compliance – Working with the Plant Managers to remedy employee’s non-compliance.

· Provides online training for new Managers on IIPP, Potential Dangers, Chemical’s exposure, Safety Programs, SDS and documents training

· Research safety policies that are mandated by state and federal government analyzing whether they would be beneficial to implement in our business

· Performs specialized tasks given by the VP of Operations

· Performs other related duties as assigned

· Requesting forklift certifications for those that attended classes

· Working closely with Operation Managers on open audit items

· Works closely with the VP of Operations, Ops Team, and the Plant Managers, on maintaining and minimizing the company’s TRIR year over year.

· Member of the company’s Workplace Violence Prevention Team – leads and advises on any updates, changes, on laws for preventative threat assessments.

Supplemental Pay:

· Signing Bonus $5,000

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA preferred in safety, engineering, or sciences
  • 5+ years progressively responsible experience with supervising employees
  • 5+ years’ experience performing the safety or security function in a manufacturing environment OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
