Job Description

Plan and manage Environmental, Health, Safety, Workers’ Compensation, and DOT Programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial loss. Identify and appraise conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluate potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents.

Manage Environmental Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and assist in ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Provide visible Safety & Health leadership and promote a Safety Culture at the plant.
  • Maintain the Occupational Health – Safety Management System.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Review Lockout / Tagout & Tryout Procedures, Risk Assessment, Fire Plans, and Ergonomic Evaluations.
  • Conduct or direct research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of a given system, operation, or process.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned.
  • Review incident reports submitted by department / EHS personnel.
  • Assist engineering / maintenance in capital expenditure projects.
  • Provide environmental guidance to reduce waste streams, improve recycling initiatives, and projects to enhance the reduction in the overall environmental footprint at the site.
  • Assist in managing Workers’ Compensation Program costs to reduce liability and reserves.
  • Perform department environmental and safety audits.
  • Coordinate the inventory and overall costs of the PPE Vending Machines.
  • Plan, budget, and direct Purchase Accounting Safety Projects.
  • Provide support for completion and submitting environmental permits and reports to appropriate federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Develop and implement corporate wide Safety Programs for Air Industries Sr. EHS Manager.
  • Provide guidance in work accommodation requests.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform Basic First Aid and CPR.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years’ of EHS Leadership experience.
  • Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus.
  • Experience establishing EHS Policies and Procedures preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and outside contractors.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, WV, NFPA, EPA, & DOT Standards and industrial accepted safe work practices.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word).
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $86700 to $130100 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
