Overview:

Join a fast-paced team that has a lot of fun at work! We receive 600-900 phone calls/emails per day and we need help! We do not do any cold-calling, and this is not a telemarketing position. Customers respond to our advertisements and call or email us for help booking their perfect cruise. The role of a Sales Agent ranges from helping customers decide all trip details such as what cruise line, ship, sailing, and destination they want, to simply helping them book a pre-selected trip. Most customer contact is through phone and email, not walk-ins. We provide comprehensive training to all new sales employees. No prior knowledge of sales or cruise/travel industry required.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a wide range to comply with pay transparency laws in all states and geographical areas. Many factors, such as years of experience, geographical location, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.

Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Excellent communication skills (including in-person, email and phone)
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Flexibility/ability to adjust to constantly changing promotions and needs of sales floor
  • Collaborative skills/teamwork oriented
  • Technical capacity to use online booking engines, Microsoft Outlook, and other systems as required. (New Sales Agents will be trained in the use of these systems.)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines

Sales Agent responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Understanding current promotions and applying them
  • Understanding client wants and desires
  • Matching the proper cruise to the client based on cruise line attributes and subtleties learned during the training period
  • Successfully navigating and utilizing online booking engines
  • Using excellent phone skills and a customer-centered attitude
  • Properly documenting files
  • Keeping calm under sales pressure -
  • Performing job tasks required of the position

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Typing and handwriting included in position duties. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies. Specific vision abilities include the ability to read computer monitor, files, and other documents as needed.
