SUMMARY:

This Sales Business Development role can be based anywhere in the United States. This Sales Business Development job is a travel position, and work from home position while not traveling. Territory assigned TBD but will be West Coast States.

The Sales Business Development Leader is responsible for all territory activity to engage with customers on behalf of our company. Effective communication via travel to meet with customers, phone calls, emails or video conference with customers is required. The Sales Business Development Leader is responsible for answering questions, discovering new communication tactics, and maintaining expert knowledge about company products, company services or competitors to best service customer’s needs. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Communication and People Skills: the Sales Business Development Leader must be able to communicate with clients of all backgrounds and educational levels. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are must-haves for this role to interact with existing and potential customers, build and maintain effective relationships, network. Must be able to employ effective persuasion skills to clearly convey product benefits and details to customers and negotiate the sale.
  • Organizational skills: must be comfortable juggling numerous clients, on- and off-site meetings, and meet deadlines. The successful Sales Business Development Leader must be highly organized to manage the many parts of the job and keep client proposals, appointments, follow ups and other tasks on track.
  • Time-management skills: Business development Sales Leaders must understand how to prioritize their time. Must be comfortable managing a calendar and adjusting their schedule as needed. Must be able to complete assignments in a timely, accurate and detailed manner.
  • Technical and computer skills: the Business Development Sales Leader must make full utilization of resources available to drive sales and must have basic computer skills using Outlook, Word and Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to utilize and interpret spreadsheets and databases containing sales goals and other data and identify gaps. Must be able to perform basic math skills, and basic measuring skills including standard and metric units.
  • Drive, self-motivation and self-assured: the successful Business Development Leader is initiative-taking and goal-oriented to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for assigned territory. Must be self-assured to meet demands of faced-paced environment. Must be able to confidently deliver presentations to potential customers about the benefits, uses, and specifications of our products.
  • Teamwork: Business Development Leaders are expected to work effectively in a team either in person or virtually during internal meetings, special projects, and new product development.
  • Travel: travel is an essential function of this position and could involve both driving and flying along with overnight travel stays. The Business Development Leader is required to travel throughout the year in the assigned territory. When not traveling remote work at home is expected.
  • Hours of work: hours must be flexible to meet customers needs across US time zones as necessary in assigned territory.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Sales or Marketing with previous sales experience of 3 to 5 years in plastics or similar industry is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate sales success in high-volume high-pressure environment. Other education levels will be considered with appropriate experience.
