At The Otsego Re-Use Center, a project if The Arc Otsego, the Sales Coordinator shares values of positivity, resourcefulness, safety and respect, the Re-Use Center Sales Coordinator is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining revenue driven sales practices. The Re-Use Center Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and creating positive interactions with customers and donors, support coworkers in the sorting, pricing and merchandising of products. Additionally, Re-Use Sales Associate will maintain donation intake areas, load, unload and evaluate inventory including but not limited to furniture, building materials and other heavy merchandise. Contribute to positive working relationships by supporting all coworkers, including fellow staff, volunteers, and trainees.
The ideal Sales Coordinator candidate will:
1. Motivates and encourages sales revenue by educating self and team on customer services values, sales techniques, seasonal specials/events, and inventory items;
2. Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
3. Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
4. Design and maintain organizational inventory methods to drive sales.
5. Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
6. Resolves inventory related issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
7. Collaborates with Re-Use Center Manager to develop sales quotas and strategies.
8. Gives input on sales budget and/or projections.
9. Accurately and professionally perform cash register functions including cash handling procedures.
10. Maintain an attractive, organized, safe and clean retail and donation intake environment.
11. Assist customers with loading purchases and unloading donations.
12. Accurately and professionally receive and screen donations according to Re-Use Center guidelines.
13. Accurately price donations in alignment with consignment sale value.
14. Maintain knowledge of donations and inventory.
15. Sort incoming donations into specified categories by department, type, and size.
16. Learn, understand, and maintain evolving systems and SOPs for a professional, and efficient workspace.
17. Model safe work practices and adhere to all safety policies, using proper personal protective equipment as required and reporting unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
18. Adhere established schedule to ensure proper coverage, providing proper notice for PTO and sick time.
19. Contribute to positive working relationships by providing exemplary customer service and willingness to support customers, coworkers, volunteers, and trainees.
20. Support Re-Use center staff by communicating effectively, helping, and providing great teamwork.
21. Ensure appropriate outreach to diverse audiences, appreciate, and embrace diversity in all interactions
with program participants, staff, volunteers, and the public.
22. Demonstrate commitment to and practice the mission of The Arc Otsego and The Otego Re-Use Center.
23. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED strongly preferred.
REASONING SKILLS

LANGUAGE SKILLS

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar or line graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be able to clock in and out at the beginning and ending of each shift using E3. Must be able to use Datis to submit PTO, Sick Time requests and successfully submit timesheet at the end of shifts for the week.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Successful completion of all required agency training.
