SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Position Type: Direct Hire, Full time non-exempt position
Position Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm with one half-hour for lunch
Position Salary: $38K Base + $15K commission (first 6 months - $7000 guaranteed)
Position Location: Brooklyn Hts., OH

Summary:
Become a part of a growing candle manufacturing and development company with unique color changing candle technology! Grow existing accounts, develop new customers and sales strategies in new business venture. Communicate with customers by telephone and in person, providing pricing and work with the customer to generate sales. Must possess exceptional customer service skills, be strong in Microsoft Excel, and be comfortable working with social media and internet sites. Must be willing to travel occasionally for industry events, trade shows, and conventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Input sales orders.
  • Enter and follow-up on web-based leads and orders.
  • Oversee and provide updates on web listings; adding content, pictures & updated prices.
  • Follow-up on customers’ inquiries and requests for quotes.
  • Manage and follow-up on outgoing customer samples.
  • Assist with developing content for websites & social media campaigns.
  • Solicit potential opportunities, including customer calls.
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction and product purchases. Stay abreast of sales figures monthly through sales reports; investigate trends and follow up with team.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends.
  • Drive or fly to participate in industry shows, conventions, buyer events and other potential business leads.
  • Maintains all customer information in CRM software.
  • Track monthly/annual sales figures. Review and analyze trends and historical data of customer sales and products.
  • Handle issues in the best interests of both the customer and the company.
  • Develop an annual business plan, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, focusing on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
  • Contact new leads weekly per brand.
  • Follow Step-By-Step Procedures for all Flame Fanatic Orders once initiated.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Internet literate – able to research products, vendors as needed.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Impeccable business etiquette.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to adapt and respond to changing business needs.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and focus in a busy office setting.
  • Sage/MAS, Act, Constant Contact or any other ERP software is desired.
  • Background in working with manufacturing / distribution companies a plus.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers; understanding their business needs.
  • Proven track record with lead-to-sale conversion.

Education

  • Associates degree preferred or work experience equivalent.
  • 3- 5 years’ experience in similar position.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  • Sage/MAS, Act, Constant Contact or any other ERP software is desired.
  • Background in working with manufacturing / distribution companies a plus.
