Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sales Manager responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and direction of profitable sales within the Louisiana market. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Sales team to implement and execute the company’s initiatives, cultivate and enhance existing customer/ supplier relationships, and grow market shares within the region. We seek a motivated self-starter with a keen ability to communicate with diverse groups, strong analytical skills, and high business acumen.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the team, which will contribute to achieving the Territory and Regional objectives.
  • Identify opportunities and present solutions offered by the organization that meets the customer’s needs.
  • Ensure that team members maintain up-to-date customer and inventory data in the CRM and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct sales meetings, training, and account/pipeline reviews on a regular basis with the sales group.
  • Manage and report on team performance, assets (inventory), and budget execution.
  • Set appropriate performance objectives for team members and hold them accountable for achieving these.
  • Create a personal network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand.
  • Work with the Credit Manager to ensure accounts receivable are kept current.
  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures to ensure the team’s and own work adheres to required standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge in Packaging are strongly preferred
  • Will supervise up to 12 direct reports
  • 50% travel required may be requested to perform other duties as assigned

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in territory sales or account management.
  • Strong understanding or experience from a large, national, or decentralized distribution organization is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve sales goals.
  • Must have strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Good interpersonal and conflict management skills are required.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Physical Requirements:

  • A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require PC work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for frequent periods of time. The incumbent is required to talk, see and hear. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Normal office working conditions will occur along with travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
