Job description
The Sales Specialist is first and foremost a bookseller! An integral member of the Marketing and Sales team, this position is responsible for all sales efforts and is the face of the press when it comes to sales opportunities. This job requires an experienced and knowledgeable salesperson with strong communication skills. We expect this position to manage sales reps, develop and maintain bookstore and distribution vendor relations, and develop new revenue streams, increasing revenue within existing accounts and aggressively growing our account base by customizing our sales efforts and product mix to meet the needs of new accounts.

Position is located in Lincoln, NE, with remote/hybrid considered. Out-of-state work locations are evaluated based on comparability to Nebraska’s tax, payroll, workers compensation, and other laws and policies. In certain locations where state laws are not comparable to those in Nebraska (non-comparable states), requests for relocation of current employees or the hiring of new employees will be critically evaluated by the University and can be denied.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelors and 3 years of proven sales experience and success; equivalent education/experience considered. Knowledge of publishing trends. Ability to identify special markets. Ability to increase book sales.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years proven sales experience and success. Experience in publishing or retail.
Experience working in academic publishing. Proven ability to increase book sales.

Posted Salary $50,000 yr/minimum
