Sales Training Specialist
Job Summary
The Sales Training Specialist will lead all sales training initiatives with onboarding new team members as well as continuously improving the skills for the current sales organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to make decisions and address issues as they arise.
Role Responsibilities
- Partner with senior and departmental leadership on development of new training initiatives and content designed to support critical business objectives
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive and robust training curriculum that includes instructor-led classes, online education, and other learning modalities
- Ability to adapt various facilitation styles to accommodate classroom, virtual, group, and 1:1 environment
- Lead train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
- Schedule and facilitate instructor-led virtual training for new hires and other learners as needed
- Maintain communication channels with sales new hires and their sales managers regarding new hire performance and learning objectives
- Seek and gather information from leadership, team members, and other departments regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seek to improve
- Proactively identify required curriculum enhancements and changes to meet the evolving needs of the department and then make the required changes in a timely manner
- Proactively evaluate training programs and assets for effectiveness and collaborate with key stakeholders and L&OD Leadership to develop a roadmap for iteration and program enhancements
- Develop and share periodic status reports with HR and Sales leaders
- Develop and publish communication plans about available training opportunities
- Work on special projects as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, or liberal arts, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- At least five years previous experience working as a trainer, preferably a sales trainer
- Ability to train with energy, enthusiasm, and dedication
- Experience in designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training material for instructor-led, virtual, and blended training
- Capable of utilizing a variety of delivery techniques and activities, to engage adult learners while relating critical concepts
- Maintain open, timely, and consistent communication with the Director of Learning & Organizational Development, demonstrating the ability to escalate issues in a timely fashion
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient using and training in ERP systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Hubspot, DemandGen, Korn Ferry Training, etc.
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and other departments
- Demonstrated track record training, coaching, developing professionals
Preferred
- At least two years of experience working a remote role with limited supervision
- At least 1 year of experience working in direct sales role
