Reports to: Executive Performance Chef

Status: Part Time

Pay: $14/hr

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary: The dishwasher position for the San Francisco Giants performance food department is responsible for maintaining an outstanding dining experience for the athletes and coaching staff via organization, set-up, and regular cleaning of the dining room, as well as regular washing and stocking of kitchen appliances and small wares.

Position Responsibilities:

• Set up dining room prior to breakfast and lunch
• Ensure all condiments are full, presentable, and in proper locations.
• Ensure all utensils, napkins, cups, and front of house items are appropriately stocked and set up each day
• Ensure that equipment, utensils, dishes and work space are neat, clean and sanitized.
• Regularly wash/sanitize and maintain all kitchen appliances and small wares
• Maintain safe practices when storing food products
• Keep a professional relationship with staff and players
• Maintains stock by assisting the chefs in keeping the kitchens in full working order; retrieving stock, and keeping all cooking and serving utensils and plates clean & sanitary at all times
• Organizes, rinses, and runs dishes and utensils through dishwasher; unloads and organizes per set guidelines
• Ensures safe and clean work area by following sanitation standards and procedures complying with legal regulations
• Provides foodstuff and utensils for chef by carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators
• Maintains food quality by storing foods in designated areas, minimizing spoilage
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, and performs preventative maintenance
• Maintains appropriate levels of needed dishes and utensils
• Segregating and removing waste in accordance to company standards
• Take the most effective role

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a restaurant kitchen or in the catering business.
• Understands and complies with food safety standards.
• Food handler’s card required according to local and state law.
• Able to work non-traditional hours and remain flexible regarding work schedule.
• Ability to handle confidential matters and information with discretion and diplomacy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 25+ lbs.
• Experience and/or training in hands-on equipment maintenance
• Understanding of sanitation-related issues and knowledge of precautions necessary to ensure a clean food preparation environment
• Proven teamwork

• Pass a background check
