Job description
- Enhancing patients/customers experience by providing clerical/technical support, in a manner consistent with the Code of Conduct.
- Performs a full range of clerical services including answering telephones, scheduling patients appointments and procedures using the computerized scheduling system.
- Coordinates patients appointments between various departments and physician offices.
- Excellent customer service skills, prioritization, decision-making, multi-tasking skills are essential in this key position. .
- This position requires providing service to the following age populations: adolescents, adults, older adults and frail elderly - in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
- Needs to possess strong customer service skills.
- Experience obtaining prior authorizations and experience dealing with insurance companies required.
- 2-3 years Surgery Scheduling (medical office setting) preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Very strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) with co-workers, patients, case managers, third party payors, physicians, nurses and other personnel.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond to questions in tactful and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality .
- Computer skills.
