Job Title: School-based Mental Health Practitioner

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Supervisor: Program Manager

Schools available: Ely, MIB-Mountain Iron-Buhl, ERATS-East Range Academy of Technology and Science, NLC-Northern Learning Center (Positions are potentially based in more than one location and could require travel between locations)

Summary of postion:

This position works in the schools providing mental health services to children who require varying therapeutic and rehabilitative levels of intervention. Practitioners provide teaching and practice of specific behavioral skills that have not been developed or that can replace maladaptive skills developed due to the emotional unease.

Essential Functions:

• Provide individual, group, and family skills training at assigned school site(s)
• Coordinate School Based Mental Health Services at assigned school site(s)
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with partnering agencies
• Document services in the RMHC electronic health record in a timely manner
• Provide school/community personnel with essential program information
• Respond to and provide crisis assistance and intervention as needed
• Provide consultation and educational services to school/community authorized persons
• Complete all billing paperwork required by program funding sources, agency policy, DHS CTSS standards, or other payer requirement
• Complete all clinical documentation and other medically necessary information for the people we serve both as required by agency policy and DHS standards
• Develop and update individual treatment plans for the people we serve per as needed / required
• Complete required standardized measurement tools for children and adolescents
• Provide medically necessary mental health treatment to children and adolescents and their family, as directed by RMHC Code of Conduct and Minnesota Professional Board standards and ethics
• Attend Multidisciplinary, ADAPT, school, and other meetings as directed
• Coordinate care and referrals with other service agencies and with families
• Provide program transportation as necessary
• Work a schedule sufficient to meet the needs of the school district(s) assigned
• Willingness and ability to be trained in cultural competencies and to provide culturally appropriate treatment services to youth and their families
• Attend trainings as required by RMHC and the Department of Human Services so as to meet both minimum training requirements and mandated trainings
• Communicate with Clinical Supervisor regarding issues / updates for the people we serve as required by Department of Human Services and RMHC
• Attend Individual Education Plan meetings as needed
• Attend Special Education Trainings as directed
• Follow all Federal guidelines in accordance with the Department of Labor’s statutes and laws and any other regulatory agencies.
• Minimum Qualifications: Must fulfill requirement of a Mental Health Practitioner through DHS standards.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
