Job description: The Goddard School located in Indian Land, SC is looking for a motivated self-starter for a Director’s position at our new school. A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, preferably in ECE or a related field. The candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and prior experience as a preschool administrator. The candidate should be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with children.

Director Responsibilities Include:

* Overseeing school operations (scheduling, staff management, compliance, etc.)
* Developing strong & positive relationships with all families
* Maintaining compliance with all Goddard & South Carolina Child Care Licensing requirements
* Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
* Onboarding, training and developing staff members including recruitment and interviews
* Having genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education & projecting a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
* Maintaining accurate records in accordance with state and franchise regulations
* Conducting & documenting emergency drills
* Leading faculty meetings; including planning first-aid, CPR, emergency preparedness drills and other required trainings
* Coaching and supporting staff through dialogue and classroom observations
* Regular review of lesson plans, daily activity reports, child portfolios
* Conducting school tours, attend marketing events & planning school-wide events for families
* Be the expert on all things Goddard
* Conduct meetings with parent(s) or legal guardian(s) when appropriate;
* Ad-hoc responsibilities as required by the needs of the school (e.g. classroom support, etc.)
* Maintaining professionalism at all times while being respectful to all

In addition to the above, basic requirements include the ability to:

* Interact closely with children at all levels;
* Supervise children with sight and hearing at all times;
* Change children’s diapers or assist in toileting where necessary;
* Understand and comply with the school’s employment policies;
* Communicate effectively and professionally with school staff, children and parents;
* Handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies;

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in ECE or related field)
* Prior Managerial Experience in a Preschool Setting
* Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
