We are seeking a Full-Time School Intervention Specialist to join our team in Elkton, Maryland. As a School Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for providing assessments and in home treatments for clients in the community and serve as a liaison between families, clients, and community partners.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs environmental and safety assessments, develops safety, treatment, and crisis plans, and collaborates with client, family, guidance counselor, and outpatient provider when necessary
  • Effectively utilizes crisis intervention skills when necessary, implement therapeutic strategies to reduce client’s mental health symptoms, and set short-term and measurable goals.
  • Identify the need for medical and/or substance abuse treatment and make appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Possess adequate knowledge of community resources and provides appropriate referrals to clients both mental health and non-mental health.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to work with a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, dual diagnosis, and geriatric.
  • Timely completion of all required documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Abide by all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to confidentiality and protected health information.
  • Comply with all contractual and operational guidelines and mandatory reporting, including duty to warn and child abuse/neglect referrals.

What You’ll Get:

  • Salary Range: $18.00-$22.00 per hour.

  • This position will consist of primarily daytime shifts however, we are seeking a candidate who is able and willing to work varied shifts, including evenings as needed.


What We Require:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study

    LBSW Licensure required.

    Valid Driver’s License, proof of current automobile insurance, and access to a personal vehicle

  • Must be able to work with “high-risk” consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities.
