The core to SEEDS’ approach to Restorative Justice Implementation centers on community building, conflict resolution, restorative inquiry, de-escalation, harm repair, relationship restoration and positive school culture and climate development. In addition to restorative justice trainings, SEEDS’ School Services offers support services in building the capacity of relational school systems including effective communication strategies, feedback, customer service, facilitation, transition management, interest-based decision making, and conflict mediation.

COVID Policies:

All staff are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses of a 2-dose sequence or 1 dose of a 1-dose sequence), barring a medical or religious exemption. We base our in-office masking policy on current public health data and governmental guidelines. As of April 2022, staff are asked to wear masks in public areas of the office unless otherwise agreed by everyone present. We have a hybrid remote/in-person work model and currently require employees to be present in the office at least 3 days per week with the option to work remotely up to 2 days per week. We work remotely when public health guidelines require it.

The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic, highly communicative, and collaborative team committed to fostering positive relationships between educators and students and supporting schools in the paradigm shift from a punitive model to a framework that embodies restorative justice and practices.

This role supports the implementation of restorative practices with contracted schools and youth serving organizations throughout California using the SEEDS fee for service model. We are looking for a highly skilled, energetic, experienced Senior Practitioner who can deliver high-quality, engaging trainings with administrators and teachers in a direct and compassionate way and facilitate structured, organized group processes.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the School Services Manager.

In this position, you will:

  • Participate in the SEEDS team
  • Support service delivery in accordance with SEEDS business plans, mission, vision, and values
  • Participate in team and staff meetings and circles
  • Practice congruence with Conflict Transformation and Restorative communication internally and externally
  • Represent and promote SEEDS in accordance with organizational values and messaging
  • Design and deliver customized conflict transformation services
  • Conduct direct service delivery of restorative practices in schools (including formal training, circle facilitation, coaching) using SEEDS’ 3-5 year whole school RJ culture and skills model
  • Train cohorts of staff, students, and/or admin, often with the background of conflict/tension among staff/parents/students
  • Provide mediation services for education-based clients and organizations
  • Support contracting process
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Develop and improve programs
  • Give feedback on school-based offerings including materials, program models, toolkit resources, etc.
  • Meet quarterly with School Services Manager and other practitioners to review best practices, give feedback on curriculum, update resources
  • Ensure consistency and quality of all materials
  • Ensure high quality infrastructure, systems, evaluation, and quality assurance for School Service programming and mediation cases
  • Support School Services program development
  • Support School Services curriculum development
  • Support School Services data entry via SalesForce and Google Suite
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid CA Driver’s License and access to a working vehicle (for required in-person service delivery)
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the Bay Area and beyond for in-person service delivery
  • Ability and willingness to utilize organizational technological systems (MacOS, Salesforce, Google Classroom, Box, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Conflict resolution, mediation, and restorative justice training
  • Experience facilitating group processes, training or teaching, and/or mediating conflict
  • Experience working and communicating with stakeholders representing broad diversity in terms of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, etc.

Compensation

Full-time exempt position. $66,000-$69,000 commensurate with experience. SEEDS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: $575 monthly allocation for health, dental, and vision insurance and 403(b) retirement plan; 13 paid holidays per year; 2 weeks’ vacation per year; 12 sick days per year; and a yearly professional development allowance.
