Cherry Gulch is a small therapeutic boarding school in Emmett Idaho, accredited by Cognia. Our academic department's mission is to reinvest students in the learning process through individual, dynamic, multi-sensory education so that they can develop into independent and organized learners, problem solvers, and effective communicators. We do this through a balance of therapy and individualized classroom instruction. Our students range in age from 10-15 years old, are enrolled in grades 5-9, and present with various emotional and behavioral challenges that impact their ability to learn.

We are seeking a Science teacher for the 2023-24 School Year with an open mind, who can think out-of-the-box to guide learning opportunities for our young men. We would like an instructor who shows how Science comes to life through real-world, experiential projects and opportunities, which allow for personalization for students’ unique needs and interests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with a cohesive team in a small, nurturing learning environment. We are proud to be using Amplify Science curriculum for the first time this year.

New Cherry Gulch teachers will start August 2023.

Teacher Requirements & Qualifications:

· Program and curriculum design and implementation

· Classroom management expertise

· Experience personalizing instruction for students with learning differences

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Idaho teacher certification with Science endorsement, Special Education preferred

Responsibilities include:

- Follow Idaho’s standards and benchmarks for curriculum development.

- Delivers material with a high degree of relational engagement, group process, and experiential methodology.

- Student recommendations for additional or ancillary resources are made proactively, as needed to afford all students maximum academic opportunity.

- Develops and prepares effective lesson plans and high-quality instructional material measured by supervisor observation, student testing and progress towards academic goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
