NuProbe is the US-based R&D subsidiary of NuProbe Global, a company devoted to the development of novel non-invasive DNA and RNA diagnostic assays. Currently, NuProbe has several products based on NGS, qPCR, and sanger technologies. The Innovation team is developing new technologies based on NGS and qPCR for next-stage products and services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join NuProbe, working under the guidance of the Innovation team lead to contribute to the new technology development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• (30%) Bioinformatics, NGS Data Analysis (Python, MATLAB preferred)
• (70%) Leading projects and performing wet-lab experiments including, but not limited to NGS library preparation, sequencing, PCR, qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Scientist I executes most of the R&D protocol activity which is vital to the success of the company. This position handles sensitive data and comes with a high degree of trust.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Education/Experience Required

For external candidates:

• PhD degree in molecular biology or related fields
• At least two (2) years of relevant experience (PCR and NGS) in research
• At least one (1) year peer review publication

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting at a desk, standing, bending and extensive use of computer and other work-related electronic devices. Must be able to push, pull, hold files and confer in office spaces. During time of pandemic, this and other roles require the employee to wear a mask over the nose and mouth while on the work premises. Must be able to carry or pick-up items up to 25 pounds at any time. Some travel may be required to carry-out job responsibilities. Employees must keep safety rules and good work practices a priority.
