Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced professional to serve in a Scrum Master capacity for our enterprise Data Science Program. They will work directly with the product owner and data scientists on the program’s Intelligence Generation Scrum Team. Their efforts will ensure this team helps accelerate the delivery on new data science predictive models and capabilities. The ideal candidate is first and foremost a proactive Scrum Master, has a passion for data science, and is an excellent communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

Serves their team by facilitating team events and coaching the team to achieve higher levels of agile masteryProtect the team from harmful external influences and proactively assist with removing impediments and blockersEncourage and facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration; Manage team’s dependencies with third parties, release managers, or other Scrum teamsEstablish team level cadence and drive team level ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning, team retrospectives, backlog refinement, etc.)Provide actionable metrics on team performance and encourage experimentation by the team to drive to better outcomesMaintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on team-level progress and qualityMotivates teams to achieve outcomes and resultsContinuously tracking cross-team dependencies

Required Qualifications:

Advanced Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence) knowledgeBachelor’s degree in applicable area of expertise (i.e. Project Management, Software Engineering. Data Science, Data Analytics, etc.)

4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile CoachFamiliarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and modern development practicesHighly effective communicator;

Ability to make things transparent and understandableCan easily consume information and participate in technical discussions among data scientistsGreat team player with contagious leadership skillsSelf-starter with experience working within, influencing within, and networking within the political climate of a large matrixed organizationThrives in a complex fast-paced environmentPossesses bias towards action and experimentationCertified Scrum Master (CSM)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:

  • Scrum: 4 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • PMP (Preferred)
