Seng Couture is now hiring Seamstresses for our new location in North Plainfield! We are looking for individuals to join our Alterations Team who are knowledgeable and experienced in executing alterations and tailor services to a variety of different styled gowns and fabrications. A Seng Couture Alterations Team member is also open-minded to applying and expanding their knowledge, courteous and is a team player and leader when it comes to working with fellow seamstresses, stylists, managers, and most importantly our clientele. We are looking for multiple stylists with an energetic, welcoming and passionate sales personality. To be successful in this role, you should combine your fashion knowledge with a customer service attitude to help our clients prepare themselves for their special day. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform the work assigned by the Alterations Production Supervisor

• Meet productivity standards

• Communicate supply needs to the Alterations Production Supervisor

• Ensure that the alterations office, workrooms and fitting areas are kept organized, clean and safe for all employees and customers

• Communicate machine or equipment repair needs to the Alterations Production Supervisor

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in altering bridal gowns, evening gowns, and bridesmaid gowns

• Has worked with various fabrics, such as tulle, satin, mikado, lace, embroidery and heavy beadwork; structured gowns with boning and illusion; also knowledgeable with different styled sewing techniques

• Knowledgeable in using industrial sewing machines

• Speak and write in English; bilingual is a plus

• Has reliable transportation

• Able to work on weekdays and weekends, on major federal holidays and overtime

• Responsible, punctual, and a team player

• Flexible to the needs of the company and clientele

• Has basic computer knowledge; additional training will be provided

Schedule & Compensation:

• $20-$30 per hour based on experience

• Full Time 35 - 40 hours

• Part Time 16 - 30 hours depending on availability.

• Daytime, evening and weekend hours required
