Primary Purpose of Position:

The position supports the management of security controls, products and services that protect both enterprise and building systems and networks, and assists with initiatives to strengthen policies, process controls and technical standards for security and management.

Essential Functions:

• Perform daily administration and development of assigned security tools, including those that manage firewalls and security monitoring systems.
• Assist with the creation, modification and maintenance of enterprise-wide firewall and antivirus rule sets/policies.
• Conduct daily monitoring of computer networks for security-related alerts and anomalies.
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.
• Research, draft and edit policies in support of management and security standards.
• Support the installation, integration, maintenance and security of building management systems.
• Support and conduct security audits.
• Help develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
• Research security enhancements and make recommendations.
• Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.

• Next-Gen Firewalls (Checkpoint and Palo Alto), Advanced Antivirus/Malware, Vulnerability Management, Multi-factor Authentications, Network Access Control (NAC), Training/ Phishing Simulation, Network Authentication, Security Incident and Event Management, IoT Analysis, SIEM, Wi-Fi Management, and VPN/Secure Remote Access Technologies.
  

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required with a technology-focused concentration preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of cyber security or related field experience.
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of computer networking.
• Demonstrated general experience with firewalls, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, and a strong foundation in the core concepts of enterprise information security. Experience with next-gen firewall management (Checkpint and/or Palo Alto) a plus.
• Proven ability to provide telephone-based and in-person support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proven ability to interact with all levels of employees.
• Ability to demonstrate multi-task management skills.
• Possess a service orientation and attitude in working with others.
• Demonstrated ability to work proactively, independently, and as part of a team is essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Involves work of a general office nature usually performed sitting such as operation of a computer.
• Involves work of a general office nature usually performed standing such as operation of a fax and printer.
• Involves movement between departments or offices in order to facilitate work.
• Involves lifting to installing and relocate computers and monitors. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
  

Internal and External Contacts:

This position will interact with external hardware & software vendors both verbally and in writing. This position will interact internally with various levels of management and employees at Boston Properties.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Manager, IT & Building Systems Security who provides supervision and guidance, and coordinates, evaluates, and monitors work performance on a periodic basis.
