Job Description:
Observes and reports all out-of-the ordinary activity in and around the hospital and grounds. Respond to security and safety related emergencies. Dispatch security officers. Conducts investigations and completes departmental reports. Provides security escorts as required. Provide parking lot surveillance, traffic control and other duties as assigned. Exemplifies excellent customer service skills toward patients, families, visitors, volunteers, vendors, physicians and co-workers. Demonstrate courteous, compassionate and respectful communication in all situations with customers. Contribute positively to teamwork and harmonious working relationships with others. May deal with patients and customers in all age categories from infant to geriatric.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required, or higher. Minimum of 1 year security experience preferred. Valid Kentucky driver's license with satisfactory driving record – as defined by BHH policy - is required. IAHSS Basic certification preferred. Must possess a BLS certification within 90 days of hire and maintain certification. Must be able to pass the Taser X26P course within 6 months and maintain certification. Must be able to pass Handcuff training course within 6 months and maintain certification. Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training, required within 30 days of hire and maintained annually. Crisis Situation Management (CSM) preferred, required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually. Hazardous Materials first receiver certification required within 90 days of hire and maintain certification. Good organizational, oral and written communication skills are required. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work well with others with minimum supervision and present a professional appearance required.
