GENERAL DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements. Additionally, the Senior Accountant is responsible for developing analysis and reports based upon accounting records for Capital Caring Health and related entities. This role is responsible for meeting deadlines for accurate and timely processing of monthly analytical report subsequent to the monthly close, as well as the compilation of ad hoc analyses as requested by management. The Senior Account is responsible for ensuring that internal inquiries on financial results are handled expeditiously and proactively working with department directors and managers to address questions, data requests and issues of concern.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Within the philosophy, objectives and policies of Capital Caring Health, carries out the following essential functions:

Quality Provision of Services:
1. Prepares Finance Committee and standard monthly financial reports including GL, A/R, and other statistical analysis of the financial results of Capital Caring Health in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with the parameters established by division leadership. These reports will be distributed to the appropriate members of management.
2. Prepares monthly GM reports and conducts analyses of aspects of finances of the operations. These will either be based upon the results of standard monthly analysis, or on the request of management.
3. Prepares and obtains approval for General Journal entries as needed.
4. Participates in regular reconciliations of General Ledger accounts as assigned.

Organization/Regulatory Compliance:
1. Assists with the year-end audit as necessary.
2. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual census reports.
3. Supports the development of the Medicare Cost Report.
4. Provides support for completion of the IRS 1990
5. Provides support during the annual CAHP audit.

People/Communications:
1. Represents the Finance Department throughout the organization.
2. Continually works to improve performance, applying variance, identifies key areas of performance improvement opportunity and recommends action plans to maximize results. This includes solving problems and handling concerns as they arise.
3. Solicits and is responsive to the input of all members of management, as well as members of the Accounting and Finance departments, on financial matters.
4. Educates staff persons outside of the Finance arena in financial parameters affecting their operations.
5. Inspires employees to embrace change.

Financial Stewardship:
1. Monitors and reports organizational productivity standard compliance as defined by the financial plan and in alignment with best practices/the Capital Caring Health model.
2. Takes initiative to analyze the operations of Capital Caring Health to determine potential areas for operational improvement.
3. Reviews operations to ensure that revenue is accurately captured and reported for all applicable service lines.
4. Analyzes expenses with an eye toward recommending areas for efficiency and/or cost control.
