OPPORTUNITY
Immediate opening for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - CORPORATE in the Dallas office of a growing private real estate investor/developer. This position is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for several corporate entities, including analysis, forecasting, and cash projections. This position reports directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller. Dallas area applicants only.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements for corporate entities
- Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statement
- Analyze financial data and create reports for management and lenders
- Preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasts for corporate entities
- Assist with annual tax return process – including preparation of workpapers for tax accountants and assistance with review of tax returns.
- Record daily cash activity to general ledger.
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records to include monthly account reconciliations, research, and analysis
- Maintain JV entities’ financial records. Annually prepare workpapers for tax accountants and record K-1 activity
- Record and billback monthly credit card activity
- Evaluate, develop, and improve accounting controls, processes and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Assist with periodic investor distributions
- Serve as backup the Treasury Manager for daily cash reporting and cash forecast updating
- Other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Accounting degree
- 7+ years accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment
- Organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- High level of efficiency and accuracy
- Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data
- Pro-active to improve processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Tax experience with partnerships including targeted partnership allocations and Sec 754, Sec 743b
Computer skills:
- Experience with MRI software a plus
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
