Job Summary:
The Senior Accounts Payable Manager will provide support to the business and finance function with a key focus on improvements to the AP process, automated invoice and expenses system process, processing vendor invoices, GRIR review and reconciliation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Trains and oversees 10 or more employees involved in billing functions, including 2 Accounting Managers.
  • Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
  • Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed.
  • Assists with performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage all activities in the accounts payable function
  • Consolidate the accounts payable function for US and foreign entities, reorganize the team and reassign activities between team members
  • Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and maintain accurate record and control reports
  • Review Accounts Payable subledger, aging report and register for accuracy
  • Manage the team of 10 or more employees across US and global operations
  • Maintain current status of the AP Inquiries mailbox
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met
  • Act as a liaison between all internal departments and external vendors to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes
  • Manage the 1099 reporting process to ensure accurate and timely reporting, and to avoid penalties
  • Create and maintain Accounts Payable policies to support the work processes within Accounts Payable and the business
  • Manage internal controls that promote adherence to regulatory, compliance and core values
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate staff.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 in the supervisory role.
  • History of managing a team over 10 people
