The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated professionals to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, or ensure the shelves of your local grocery store are stocked by Direct Store Delivery.

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for developing and conducting sourcing projects including but not limited to; RFP data management, Data Analysis, Spend Reporting, Market Analysis, Bid Analysis and supporting the category management team in day to day tasks.
Salary Range:
$66,000 - $109,500
Core Responsibilities:
  • Collects technical specifications and commercial specifications, including buyer info, bid item, volume, supplier management, pricing.
  • Supporting Documentation to validate spend, cost reduction, cost improvement, cost avoidance.
  • Validates all CR = Cost Reduction, CI = Cost Improvement (Process), CA = Cost Avoidance, and Working Capital. 12MO value for each of the above.
  • Supports Category Manager to validate negotiation strategy.
  • Coordinates with supplier when applicable to validate impact.
  • Generates detailed spend reports by sourcing category to be published to senior leadership.
  • Provides monthly/weekly input cost market reports pertaining to specific category
  • Validates and reconciles quarterly rebate or signing bonus amounts via SAP data.
  • Travels to supplier facilities as well as Smithfield production facilities to gain education on production processes.
  • Creates and maintains up to date SOP and Work Instructions for DSP process.
  • Price Management and Source Lists.
  • Conducts training for Procurement and internal customers.
  • Prime Gatekeeper, responsible for training and data integrity, DSP & SAP.
  • Establish a minimum of 3 goals annually with manager for process improvements, CR, CI & CA, or working capital. IE: Creates efficiency for DPS process into SAP
  • Report Defined benchmark and improvement opportunity
  • Report inventory control data to procurement and plant (Turns, Life Cycle, Etc.)
  • Supports projects when required per manager direction.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Sourcing experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
