Position Description:

Provides functional data management support to include the effective planning and execution of Data Archiving. This includes design, recommend, and implement data archiving and access control mechanisms and processes. Experience working in the Federal Government is preferred.

This position is expected to provide expert level business process guidance on Client's ERP’s SAP requirements and design for the Business Office. This position requires experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP FI to: automate the management and external reporting of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management; manage posting periods and period end closing; and enable open and integrated data flow between financial account and the other components of the SAP system.

This position also requires experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP FM to: process transactions associated with budget entry, supplements, transfers, returns, funds reservations, funds commitments, budgetary ledger, special purpose ledger, and budget version planning; perform year end close; enable automatic availability control/checking; and reconcile differences between AVC and FM ledgers. Candidate must have expertise with MM, SD, and FI to integrate functionality.

Required Skills:

Ten (10) or more years of SAP experience. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Experience archiving SAP data in ECC and Non ECC SAP systems for large SAP Customers. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.

  • Knowledge of new emerging technologies such as SAP HANA or equivalent.

Experience using SAP archiving tools to archive data to Open Text in multiple SAP modules including FM, SPL, CO, PS, BW, SCM, SRM. Applications, and Tools;

Experience in software development lifecycle surrounding requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, documentation, test (unit, functional, integration, regression, stress, and user acceptance), implementation, and post production support of data archiving for various SAP modules, such as ECC, BW, SCM, SRM, etc… (in a Tier 3 environment) is preferred.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, engineering, or other relevant discipline. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree.

Key Factor: Design and implement data archiving capabilities across multiple platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years archiving experience
  • Experience in post go-live production support and break/fix
  • Focus on customer service and responsiveness, with sound customer handling skills
  • Federal experience required (Navy experience preferred)
  • DoD secret clearance required (must be clearable)

Primary Duties:

  • Provide archiving expertise to confirm/develop business requirements definition in support of upgrade
  • Provide configuration, data migration, interface, and functional support as necessary;
  • Lead design of interfaces, conversion programs, reports, and enhancements;
  • Develop and maintain systems documentation including business process procedures, functional design specifications, process flows, and test cases;
  • Support development of training work products and respond to trainer questions;
  • Define user authorization requirements;
  • Provide help desk support, assisting and resolving end user support problems, resolving defects (‘break/fix’), analyzing proposed improvements or changes to the Navy ERP archiving solution and system; and
  • Prepare/conduct briefings, demos or training sessions as needed.
