Position Overview
The Universal Access Project (UAP) works to advance U.S. leadership on global sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice (SRHRJ) through a pooled fund supporting best-in-class advocates; through strategic communications, media engagement, and direct advocacy; and through its unique role convening civil society, government, and multilateral partners in pursuit of health and rights for all. UAP also hosts the Private Sector Action for Women’s Health and Empowerment initiative and the Resilience Fund for Women in Global Value Chains, which mobilize corporate leadership and resources for women’s health, rights and empowerment in workplaces and communities worldwide. The Resilience Fund is unique initiative co-created with several NGOs and now with eight corporate donor that invests in women-led grassroots organization in South and Southeast Asia using new democratized, participatory approaches to grantmaking. The Private Sector Action initiative promotes systemic changes in the way companies ensure women’s health rights and empowerment in global supply chains through collective action, better corporate, national and global policies/regulations and workplace practices and processes.
The Senior Associate, Private Sector Engagement, will provide technical assistance and manage processes within in the operations of the Resilience Fund (RF) and be part of the UAP and Resilience Fund Operations (RFOPs) Team. This position will report to the Senior Director, Private Sector Strategy and Engagement, UAP. The Senior Associate will also provide support to the operations of the UAP Accountability Platform under its Private Sector Action initiative.

This is a entry-level temporary part-time benefits eligible position working 30 hours a week with an initial term of 9 months upon hire. This is a hybrid schedule based in Washington, DC.
Essential Functions
RF Investor Group (IG) Oversight
- Design & organize two Investor Group virtual meetings in 2023
- Determine speakers and agenda for IG meetings
- Undertake regular outreach to IG participants on meetings and follow up
- Produce an IG meeting brief or report on key themes and comments
- Respond to requests and questions from investors
- Produce IG meeting documents
RF Meeting Technical Support
- Produce formal meeting notes of the RF meetings
- Maintain the Gannt chart of activities for Resilience Fund, track progress of activities and support the team’s on-time completion of tasks/activities
- Maintain schedule and support logistics of Resilience Fund Operations team meetings, including setting the agenda and ensuring issues and topics are tracked and resolved meeting to meeting
- Take on special projects as assigned to support the team based on evolving needs of the Fund
RF Board Member Liaison & Support
- Serve as a liaison to Advisory Board members related to their AB responsibilities and commitments – schedule meetings, reminders, and follow-ups
- Bring issues or challenges to the Senior Director, Private Sector Strategy & Engagement or RFOPS team for guidance or resolution
- Support RFOPs team related to logistics of major AB events – retreat, public convenings etc.
RF Communications Support
- Assist in drafting, editing or reviewing Fund documents (Funder reports, briefs, recordings)
- Maintain RF website in collaboration with UAP team to ensure site is updated and materials are current
- Update Fund google drive to ensure the capture of all final Fund documents and materials
Private Sector Action Accountability Platform Oversight
- Organize and schedule virtual convenings
- Manage the Platform’s online sites (the UAP platform page and expected wiki site)
- Draft and distribute the monthly Platform newsletter and other communications to participants
- Produce convening notes and Platform documents
- Managing and updating Platform participant list
- Respond to participant requests and issues
- Other duties as assigned
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 4 years of professional experience in administration and/or program experience
- Interest, knowledge or work experience in women’s human rights, reproductive justice, public health, international affairs, or closely related field preferred
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated excellence working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and juggle many projects at once
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively
- Strong professional interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Experience/knowledge of corporate/private sector engagement, board relations, or philanthropy is a plus
- Knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams preferred
- Previous meeting or event planning experience preferred
- Hybrid schedule is two days remote and three days in office
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy
