Position: Sr. BIM Technician

TJK Consulting Engineers, INC is hiring a Sr. BIM Technician out of their Boise or Las Vegas offices! What will you be doing?

• Setup new projects of all types/sizes, drawings, and models, for use by MEP engineers, prioritize tasks and communicate workflows with design team
• Run quick clash/coordination checks on projects, promote value of coordination
• Lead or assist with BIM coordination on projects. Troubleshoot questions and concerns of all involved in a project. Provide Revit technical support for engineering staff
• Develop and implement company-wide BIM standards
• Follow all documentation and standards requirements for projects and tracking of project data information and assist with local training of design team and workflow process
• Supervise and/or mentor junior BIM technicians in their workflow of project setup and creation of floor plans, diagrams, and schedules in AutoCAD/BIM from redlined drawings
• Evaluate project level workflow/skillset and communicate ideas for improvement of BIM capabilities and processes
• Manage and support development of company-wide training program to share procedures, standards, lessons learned, and “best practices”

What are the qualifications?

• Demonstrates advanced and efficient skills with the latest versions of Revit and MEP workflow
• Demonstrates advanced skills with AutoCAD and Revit tools
• Experience with Bluebeam
• Experience with MS Office Suite
• Proficient with working with drawings and understanding of red marks
• Proficient in reading and understanding floor plans, sections, and elevations
• Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
• Extensive work experience with at least one trade: Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing.
• Knowledge of 3D coordination with other trades
• Detailed understanding of all facets of construction blueprints (Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Special Systems)
• Fluency in reading 2D and 3D plans, electronically or hard copy

What experience is needed?

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a MEP firm as a BIM Technician
• Degree and/or certificate preferred, but not required
• Experience providing BIM leadership in an A/E/C industry firm including training, troubleshooting, or standardization
• Ability to follow directions and interpret work quality; perform coordination reviews and interference checks in Revit; and manage Revit Content Standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
