Job description

Disaster Recovery and Mitigation Division within the State of NJ; a growing organization within the Department of Community Affairs that manages many streams of federal funding to support disaster mitigation and repair/recovery in areas of housing, businesses, infrastructure, etc.

Position requires:

· Logical thinker

· Strong Analytical skills-able to take concepts and business/program information, analyze, model, and identify financial implications

· Strong Technical skills-excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Advanced Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

· Budgeting experience

· Ability and confidence level to take initiative (not just do ‘what’s told’ but ‘what’s needed’)

· Ability to multi task and be flexibility in carrying out assignments

· BA and/or MBA in Finance; having a Public Administration concentration a plus

· Strong team and interpersonal skills

· Strong communication skills-can tailor a message/discussion/presentation depending on the audience

· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

· Ability to learn and interface with multiple systems

· Excellent work ethic

Qualifications/Experience

· BA/BS Business administration, or Accounting or a Quantitative discipline

· Experience in Budgeting/planning

· Experience in developing models/spreadsheets- ability to translate problem definition into an analytical framework and build the supporting spreadsheets in telling the story and supporting the recommended outcomes

· Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate appropriately and effectively

· Considerable knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles

This position is a temp position with possible long term opportunities available.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
