Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University (GW) Center for Rehabilitation Counseling Research and Education ( CRCRE ) aims to enhance research and practice as well as to provide opportunities for growth and professional development to a diverse population of stakeholders, including persons with disabilities. The Center is part of the GW Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD). Through the direct provision of training and technical assistance (TA) to a wide array of stakeholders across the United States (US), the GW CRCRE supports a number of US Department of Education funded grants in partnership with other University partners as well as state Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies and other entities.

In support of CRCRE’s mission, an outstanding individual is needed for a Senior Center Technical Assistance and Research Analyst position. This position reports to the Director of CRCRE and the project director for specified grants. In order to develop the necessary educational programming to help guide organizational change that benefits agencies, organizations, and programs serving individuals with disabilities, the primary focus of this position is to research, identify, and provide training and technical assistance, professional development, and consultation related to emerging issues in rehabilitation. This position conducts both on-line and in-person training and technical assistance sessions designed to meet the needs of grantees and other stakeholders.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Supports grant project annual work plan development and implementation.
  • Provides technical assistance and continuing education to state VR agency staff and their partners online and in-person.
  • Collaborates with multiple stakeholders including national and state directors, and community partners, to facilitate organizational development and training.
  • Evaluate, track, and report on TA, training, and other project activities.
  • Provides internal support of training activities and communications.
  • Conducts research to develop appropriate training and continuing education in the areas of counseling, rehabilitation, and leadership as required in grant project(s).
  • Supports the development of proposals, manuscripts, and other department publications as specified in the grant project(s).
  • Facilitates and supports other training activities and learning communities as identified in the grant project(s).


Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. This position may be authorized to work remotely due to the national scope of the work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline plus 5 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.



Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in rehabilitation counseling, education, special education, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Prior experience providing technical assistance and training to state or local agencies.
  • Knowledge of organizational change theory and practice is highly preferred.
  • Experience working for a Supported Employment Program/Provider or experience working in a Public Education system with students with disabilities including individuals with multiple complex support needs preferred.
  • Experience working with historically unserved and underserved populations is highly desirable.

Typical Hiring Range
$66,204.79 - $96,795.97 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
