Overview:
Specific Job Functions:
It is the primary responsibility of the Senior Catering Coordinator to provide clerical and administrative support for The Catering Sales Manager and Director of Catering & Banquets. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
Thoroughly plan and execute all event aspects without immediate supervision.- Train newly hired catering coordinators
- Provide assistant support to Director of Catering and Banquets
- Provide support and assistance to Banquet, Catering and Wedding Chapel Manager
- Exhibit 4-Star guest service at all times
- Act as a liaison between all related hotel departments and clients
- Maintain departmental reports and procedures
- Maintain all client information and folders
- Ensure orders and requisitions for the Wedding Chapel, Catering and Banquet departments are completed
- Promptly respond to all inquiries for both Wedding Chapel and Catering
- Up-sell clients on food and beverage
- Create, revise, and distribute Wedding Event Orders (WEO) and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Distribute weekly schedules and perform office duties as needed
- Update Wedding Chapel, Catering and Banquets calendar on a daily basis
- Update group signage as needed
- Respond promptly to on-site client requests
- Handle billing and Hotel Accounting related issues for all groups
- Walk pop-up Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s)
- Call to remind clients for cut-off dates
- Answer phone, direct to appropriate person and / or take messages
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
- Two year experience at a major convention hotel preferred
- One year experience as a Catering Coordinator at a major convention hotel preferred.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Basic office equipment knowledge (ie: phones, copy machine, scanner, fax, etc)
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and written forms
- Professional appearance and demeanor a must
