About the Role

This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.

Federal Program / Senior Credentialing Coordinator / Remote

The Senior Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for supervising regional credentialing team, creating and monitoring reports, monitoring incomplete and flagged files as well as assisting team with day to day credentialing functions to aid in the overall success of the regional credentialing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff within region
  • Run weekly reports for teams targeting upcoming privileges that are expiring
  • Provide weekly reports on outliers for upcoming boards
  • Provide red flag notifications for expired credentials
  • Track monthly state reports for accuracy
  • Assist recruitment team with screening back-fills of credentialing specialist positions
  • Follow up on region's incomplete files
  • Reports identified trends, audit results, and identified problems that may affect a provider’s privilege status to the Credentials Manager and Quality Management.
  • Ensures time sensitive functions are met for necessary actions to be taken.
  • Perform the initial credentialing for all levels of healthcare workers including reviewing their resume and qualifications to ensure they meet the position description for which they were hired
  • Ability to primary source verify medical licensure, education, verify employment, DEA verification and ability to query the NPDB
  • May be asked to monitor expiring licensure, board and professional certifications and other expirable documents with practitioners within the prescribed time frames as outlined in the policies and procedures, assisting practitioners with timely renewal as appropriate and escalating to manager and field management as appropriate
  • Monitor and report progress of each healthcare worker during the credentialing phase
  • Adhere to policies and procedures including timely delivery of completed work and use of resources
  • Identify, analyze and resolve extraordinary information, discrepancies, time gaps and other idiosyncrasies that could adversely impact ability to complete the credentialing package of the healthcare worker
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to assist in the success of the credentialing team
Requirements:


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Healthcare Administration.
  • 5+ years experience with medical credentialing processes, policies and procedures
  • CPCS or CPMSM preferred.
  • Experience in DOD military healthcare requirements including credentialing and privileging
  • Requires exceptional critical thinking skills, sound judgment and the ability to communicate in an articulate and sensitive manner with practitioners and healthcare workers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, internet search tools, and research techniques
  • Must be able and willing to prioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Flexible and able to work with various personalities
  • Time management skills required; Ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential
  • High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment

As this position is categorized as Public Trust / High Risk position, candidates will be subject to appropriate Background Investigation.
