The Senior Data Analyst leverages analytical and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions to level up collective Data Analytics maturity for all of Genesco's business units. This role will help to establish data-driven decisions by developing key dashboards that allow us to know our consumers and our retail functions while taking advantage of most modern visualizations. This role will also work closely with power users across business units to create and guide our self-service analytics practice. This role comes with a natural emphasis on Data Quality and Data Governance to establish trust in our products. Our ideal candidate has experience with, data visualization tools like Power BI, IBM's Cognos, Planning Analytics, SQL, advanced Excel skills. Experience in creating ETL for moving and establishing business logic to data is a huge plus. A successful individual in this role would be flexible, can prioritize competing objectives, and is capable of operating independently and leading analytical projects.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Develop professional visualizations in Power BI, Planning Analytics, and similar tools.
- Work with large, sometimes disparate data sources to build analytic datasets for analysis.
- Advanced understanding and ability to create logical and dimensional data models mapped to business requirements.
- Analyze business needs while seeking real time feedback to increase analytics' adoption.
- Experience with BI tool selection through hands on trials.
- Ability to understand and code light ETL packages to be able to independently gather data for analyses.
- Ability to take routine data and find key areas of opportunity, then narrate the findings to all levels of the organization.
- Create design and curated data dictionaries based on stakeholder requirements.
- Deeply care about Data Quality as part of providing insights and stories.
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree required in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred.
- Experience creating simple but compelling stories and insights through visualizations.
- Ability to evaluate risks and provide recommendations / solutions in a timely manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
- 8+ years of SQL and additional querying on big data systems.
- 5+ years of dashboarding on modern analytical systems like Power BI, Tableau etc.
- 5+ years of Data Modeling for defined business requirements.
- 2+ years of ETL experience on any technology stack, preferably SQL and IBM.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technology industry, knowledge of data and product preferred.
- Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, Cognos, SQL, etc. preferred.
- Experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA preferred.
