LinQuest is seeking a Senior Data Architect to work with Enterprise, Technology and Data teams. This position can be remote but candidates near Dayton, OH, are preferred.
This position will interact with stakeholders to model and provide input on complex or ambiguous data and information architecture issues and coordinate with domain subject matter experts. An active Secret clearance is required.
The Senior Data Architect will work with many AF organizations to understand business processes, document issues, and develop recommendations, and then work with technical experts to guide the strategic solution through to implementation. The candidate should bring in top-level skills in enterprise systems, data and information systems, and collaboration to help identify opportunities and develop innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of knowledge, but also be able to become an expert in key areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop reusable patterns, practices, and reference architectures
- Provide expertise and recommendations through the development of models to support enterprise, data, and information architectures
- Interact with senior level leadership across multiple AF organizations, developing an understanding of business processes, and working within a team to recommend and deliver highly complex solutions
- Communicate information and technology architecture strategy to leaders and knowledge workers via roadmaps, models, and solution documents
- Perform and manage interviews and requirements gathering to drive the architectural design and modeling
- Participate in workshops to drive conversations related to technical challenges and work to identify architectural needs and opportunities for innovation
- Using independent research and analysis of industry and technology trends, provide actionable ideas for innovation and capability development
- Provide thought leadership related to governance processes, working to develop and promote common processes and standards
- Support vendor selection and analysis process by evaluating vendor architectures
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 6+ years technical experience in enterprise architecture/design (10+ is preferred)
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Experience with standard architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, and UAF
- Experience with modeling languages such as UML, SysML, and BPMN
- Experience with modeling tools such as:
- Software Ag Aris
- Cameo Systems Modeler
- Sparx EA
- Erwin DM
- Experience and familiarity with Data and Information Modeling
- Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models)
- Class Diagrams
- Data Lifecycle Diagrams
- Data Migration Diagrams
- Data Flow Diagrams/Information Flow Diagrams
- Experience with behavioral and activity modeling
- Experience with business process and technology translation for requirements, design and architecture development
- Experience working with Air Force and Air Force Research Labs R&D and S&T programs and projects
- Large scale Digital Transformation Program experience
- An active Secret clearance is required

Compensation: Starting salary ranges from $120,000 to $160,000, depending on location, relevant experience and qualifications.

Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Science & Engineering or related field
