The Senior Energy Analyst position will be responsible for managing an array of energy engineering and energy related services including the work of junior analysts that support the development and implementation of energy and infrastructure improvement programs for the Mount Sinai Health System. Through these activities, the Energy Analyst will also serve to assist in managing Crothall’s performance risk when it provides turnkey energy efficiency solutions.

Accurately baseline energy consumption down to the system/facility load level using instrumentation and existing automation infrastructure.

Works with energy suppliers and local utilities to ensure bills are accurate and works to identify and resolve incorrect billing. Prepares client billing estimates as needed including invoice generation.
Energy Procurement – Participates in the process of preparing RFPs and bid specs for the procurement of energy commodities. Reviews bills on a regular basis to ensure all is accurate and in accordance with procurement contracts.
Utilize web-based tracking software and systems such as “Portfolio Manager” for benchmarking and the reporting of energy data as necessary or required for compliance to Federal, State and Local Laws i.e. LL84.
Reporting – generate site and portfolio reports using utility bills and other operating data. Convert information into easy to understand summaries, charts, and graphs. Be able to assess environmental impacts (e.g., greenhouse gas reduction) of all recommended efficiency strategies.
Energy Analysis – review and compute a facility’s end use analysis; calculate projected energy savings; analyze properties within the portfolio for trends and anomalies in energy consumption. Business analytics – convert findings and proposals into financial reviews to justify investments.
Demand Response Programs – Actively manages Demand Response Programs for the MSHS. Programs and monitors software used in setting demand limits and tracks system performance during demand response events. Manage plans for system retro-commissioning.
Maintain project database’ and library of best practices. Perform other duties as required to manage energy systems infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with energy management, energy audits, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning, including analysis and reporting or one (1) year as the Energy Analyst within the MSHS.
Knowledge of a wide variety of central heating, cooling, and combined heat and power (CHP) plants and HVAC systems and their optimization.
BA/BS in math, finance, engineering, IT or similar analytical discipline. CEA or CEM certification is required. CMVP certification is highly desirable.
Expertise in utilizing industry standard tracking tools for calculation of baseline operating conditions and estimation of savings associated with a wide array of energy efficiency strategies. Tools to include custom spreadsheets for measure-specific applications, as well as whole-building modeling programs such as DOE/EQuest and Trane Tracer.
Must possess strong written and verbal, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
Familiarity with applicable design standards for building systems.
Ability to work collaboratively to develop/enhance Crothall/Compass protocols for audit, analysis and monitoring/measurement.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite of software applications.
Effective at working both independently (self-motivated) and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of client’s organization.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $87,500.00 per year
