PATH is seeking candidates with experience in accounting, grant invoicing, and fiscal grant compliance to join our Finance Department’s FGM team as a Senior Grant Account. This position is based out of our Los Angeles community hub.

ABOUT OUR FGM TEAM

The Finance Grants Management (FGM) team in our Finance Department manages all aspects of PATH’s grants and contracts including invoicing, receivables collection, grant budgeting, grant budget tracking, reporting, and fiscal compliance.

WHAT IS A SENIOR FINANCE ANALYSIS SPECIALIST

The Senior Finance Analysis Specialist is responsible for managing all grant invoicing and financial analysis, and fiscal compliance activities for assigned regions and/ or sub-regions of PATH. This includes all grant and contract analysis, invoicing, expense monitoring, and reporting, as well as collections, budgeting, and other internal reporting. This position interfaces externally with funders to ensure accurate timely invoicing and smooth monitoring visits, and with program personnel to ensure optimal grant financial performance. Position Responsibilities:

Grant Billing & Reporting

  • Responsible for managing cost based billing and financial reporting for a portfolio of contracts and grants
  • Required to maintain a thorough knowledge of all grant and contract financial and invoicing requirements and ensure that all grant accounting activities are congruent with such requirements
  • Reconcile grant accounts and resolve invoice discrepancies with other departments

Review and analyze grant related accounting entries to accurately charge costs to specific grants

  • Monitor expenses to ensure compliance and adherence to GAAP, Uniform Administrative Guidance Title 2 CFR 200, and funder specific regulation

Budgets Management

  • In collaboration with other PATH departments, prepare budget templates, budget renewals, modifications and assist with maintaining a centralized and organized system for tracking of all budgets
  • Attend meetings with management, programs, and funders to present and discuss budgets, budgets vs. actuals, and other budget related analysis and recommendations
  • Gather data to support preparation of new grant application budgets, modifications, and renewals
  • Support the monthly upkeep of the PATH Position Control Log and may assist with workbook set up
  • Support the quarterly upkeep of PATH’s cost allocation schedules and maybe required to assist with workbook set up

Other Finance/ Lead Duties

  • Assigned to orient and train other Finance Analysis Specialists
  • Performs quality control checks on other Finance Analysis Specialists work

If assigned Healthcare programs, must be able to understand medi-cal billing/ reporting and private insurance billing and reporting structures

WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for candidates that:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, and familiarity with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite Advanced financial reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a complex non-profit chart of accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a team lead and/or project manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting, grant invoicing, fiscal grant compliance, data management or equivalent experience, preferably in a non-profit environment within Los Angeles County

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
