The Senior Grant Accountant is responsible for monitoring daily performances of all grants, and ensures compliance with policies related to each grant falling under the scope of the position.

- Types of grants this role is responsible for are as follows
- Prepares and ensures completion of monthly, quarterly billing and reporting for city, state, federal and private grants.
- Participates in the development of grant budgets and budget modifications.
- Initiate draw downs of Federal grant funds and prepares and upload OMH related CFR.
- Ensures timely contract close-out, extension or renewals.
- Prepares Year-End Cost Reports (YCR), Federal Financial Report (FFR) and quarterly Federal Cash Transaction Report (FCTR).
- Participates in month end close by analyzing, reconciling and accruing various revenue, expense and liability accounts.
- Maintains regular communication with external and internal Program and Contract Managers.
- Participates in, and provide financial documentation for site visits.
- Assists with grant documents such as, continued funding applications, vendor responsibility questionnaire, doing business data form and certificate of no change forms.
- Assists with schedules and documentations for desk audits and annual financial audits, in addition to the SEFA (Schedule of Expenses for Federal Awards) for A-133 audits.
- Additional duties as needed by the department, or as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting Major Preferred)
Experience:
- 4 years minimum experience in Finance and\or General Accounting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- HHS Accelerator.
- Grants Gateway.
- Payment Management System (PMS.)
- System for Award Management (SAM.)
- eRA Commons.
- Consolidated Financial Report (CFR.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, and Word as well as Lotus.
- Enterprise Accounting Software, Financial, and Data Analysis.
- Good interpersonal skills a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
:
- Involves standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and speaking.
- May include some repetitive motions.
