Our API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.
We are a venture-backed startup based in downtown San Francisco that is led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits. Extend is simplifying the technology stack for the extended warranty industry.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of Information Security policies, Standards and Controls
- Assist GRC Manager with execution of Internal Security Controls Audits
- Engage with internal teams and assist them with evidence gathering and questions regarding the SOC, ISO and other external audit processes
- Provide input to management regarding improvements to our privacy program
- Help identify potential cybersecurity or compliance risks, as well as assisting with incident response activities
- Oversee the risk management process, including risk analysis and mitigation activities
- Facilitate and administer the business continuity and disaster recovery programs
- Provide leadership on Security Awareness and Training programs
- Work closely with other team members in completing cross functional projects
- Provide reporting and metrics to management
What We Are Looking For:
- 5+ years overall IT experience
- Exposure to security frameworks (such as ISO or NIST Cybersecurity Framework) or security principles and strategies.
- Familiarity with developing, executing, and sustaining company-wide programs, policies, and procedures
- Ability to perform in a distributed workforce environment with dynamic job responsibilities and priorities
- The ability to speak the language of auditors and communicate technology principles and strategies to a non-technical audience (i.e. - serverless, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
